**The Role**:
Are you adventurous? Do you enjoy variety and work balance that is physical, creative, technical and science orientated? Hydrography is a specialist career that combines science, engineering, the environment, data management and complex technology. Our Adelaide, South Australia, Hydrographics team is looking for a motivated and self-driven Hydrographer.

All levels of Hydrographer will be considered for this vacancy. Salary and role adjustments considered for experienced hydrographers looking for change with assured confidentiality throughout the recruitment process.

**The Day to Day**:
A diverse, challenging role with a mixture of fieldwork (hiking, working from boats, 4WD’ing) accompanied with data management, client liaison and project management responsibilities.
- Hands on role, with a strong focus on teamwork, reliability, and initiative
- Routine visitation and maintenance of remote environmental monitoring sites, consisting mainly of stream flow and water quality monitoring stations
- Water quality sampling
- Collect and verify environmental data using specialist software packages and scientific instruments - including the use of remotely operated boats and drones
- Accurate record keeping including field notes, photographs, and maps,
- Assisting in the upgrade of old, and installation of new environmental monitoring stations, including the use of a wide range of hand and power tools.

**The Essentials**:

- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools or willingness to learn.
- Environmental science or trades quals and/or experience,
- A proactive mindset, able to work both independently and co-operatively,
- Physically fit with an affinity for working outdoors, competent swimmer,
- Electronics / mechanical aptitude
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
