**Position Information**

Bossley Park High School is a large co-educational high school proudly serving the South Western Sydney community since 1988. There are 1250 students in the school, 82% of the student population come from a language background or dialect other than English, 62% of students are learning English as an additional language and 10% of students are from a refugee background. The major cultural groups are Arabic, Spanish, Assyrian, Italian, Eastern European, and Southeast Asian backgrounds. The school has a Disability Support Unit catering to students with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

The school is recognised for its broad curriculum including programs that support the development of talent and high potential in a range of areas, including visual arts, robotics, accelerated mathematics, performing arts - dance, music, and drama, and a selective talented football program for both boys and girls. The school also offers HSC Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses in Construction, Business Services, Hospitality, and Entertainment Industry to cater to a variety of career pathways. We foster strong partnerships with universities, businesses, and community groups to provide further opportunities and experiences to strengthen learning and engagement for our students. - Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Strong capacity to lead and support the implementation of the new 7-10 curriculum by embedding evidence-based teaching strategies, that enable students to develop high quality literacy skills and achieve positive learning outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a high-quality team, demonstrating the capacity to engage and motivate others to improve professional knowledge and practice.
- Demonstrated ability to lead evaluative practices and to use data to inform practice and to improve teaching and learning and student outcomes.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.

**General Selection Criteria**
- 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
