The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent statutory authority responsible for preparing and conducting criminal prosecutions in Victoria on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Matters prosecuted by the DPP and the OPP involve serious crimes or matters that are of significance to the fair and effective operation of the Victorian criminal justice system. The OPP consists of the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and a staff of approximately 465 providing legal and corporate support to the DPP, the Chief Crown Prosecutor and Crown Prosecutors in the exercise of their independent roles in the criminal justice system.

**Seasonal Clerkship Program 2024**

Paid placement based on VPS Grade 1 salary of $51,867per annum.

We are offering a three-week placement from Monday 24 June 2024 to Friday 12 July 2024.

**PLEASE NOTE**:
The OPP's Seasonal Clerkship Program is being offered in accordance with the LIV Seasonal Clerkship Guidelines 2023, to students who are in their final or penultimate year of study; that is, they intend to commence their final semester in 2024.

Priority offers will be made to eligible participants of the Seasonal Clerkship Program 2024 to join the OPP's Legal Traineeship Program in 2025.

The OPP is also committed to providing a safe working environment for staff and may require employees to be vaccinated against preventable diseases or other transmissible diseases based on Victorian Chief Health Officer's Directions as issued and updated from time to time. Where relevant, proof of immunisation status may also be required.

To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must be available to attend online assessment centre from 8 September and interview from 28 September 2023.
