Teacher Librarian

**Position Information**:
Goulburn West Public School is a K-6 school established in 1962. Extensive grounds with a great deal of open space, play areas, gardens and trees support a positive sense of student and staff wellbeing. Goulburn is 1.5 hours from Sydney and Canberra. The school student population averages around 400 students for the past 3 years, 22 students identify as Aboriginal (5%) and 34 students are EALD (8%). The school NSW FOEI (family occupation and employment index) is 98 which is close the average school FOEI of 100.

Goulburn West enjoys strong community support. The P&C is active in our school community along with other local stakeholders that value partnerships with our school. **Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach primary or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education (Refer special notes below).

Demonstrated capacity and commitment to creating enriching opportunities for all students, which includes Gifted and Talented students, in a stimulating library learning environment utilising the resources of the library and technology, including ICT.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to deliver explicit, innovative teaching and whole school programs, whilst promoting critical and creative thinking, digital literacy, and a love of literature.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build positive and effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.

This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days per week 0.8 FTE (Full-time equivalent).

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months.

Anticipated start date January 30th, 2024.
