The CommBank Global Economic & Markets Research (GEMR) team conducts research across the Australian and major foreign economies, currency and commodity markets, and sustainability. Our research is published for both external and internal client consumption.

Within the broader GEMR team is the International and Sustainable Economics team. The team is responsible for the Group’s research and views on the major foreign economies, commodities, currencies and sustainability.

**Do work that matters**:
The purpose of this position is to be part of a small, dynamic team that covers a wide range of issues. You will be a key part of the team establishing, developing and articulating CBA’s views on the key agricultural commodity sector markets and agricultural sustainability issues. You will be required to work closely with other members of the Global Economic &s and Markets Research team and will report directly to the Head of International and Sustainable Economics.

Further responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Author and contribute to the preparation of sustainable and agriculture research reports in detail, and in a timely and concise manner.
- While the role is based in Sydney or Melbourne, significant travel should be expected over time.
- Interact with the media to promote CBA Research views.
- Provision of support to clients (internal and external) to meet their, and CBA’s business objectives.
- Author and contribute to the production of all of the team’s regular publications.
- Contribution to value-adding research material (including presentations) of interest/relevance to the target client base.
- Provide support to the International and Sustainable Economics team, the broader GEMR team and the Chief Economist as required.

**We’re interested in hearing from people who have**:

- Experience in sustainability research and/or agricultural commodity markets research.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to write and speak on complex issues concisely and simply to a wide range of audiences.
- Expertise with Excel and statistical analysis software.
- Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team, and a keen desire to learn.
- Bachelor degree or higher, with substantive studies in economics, agricultural economics, econometrics, statistics or sustainability.
