**Your new role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hospital Placement Officer to join the Faculty of Health Sciences and undertake the administrative coordination of our clinical placement program for Curtin Medical School.

As a Hospital Placement Officer, you will be responsible for the administrative coordination of clinical placements for Curtin medical students at St John of God Hospital, Midland. In consultation with the Clinical Dean, you will manage all aspects of the student placement and provide ongoing support throughout the placement lifecycle.

**In this role you will**
- Allocate students to placement sites and organise student orientation/induction;
- Providing accurate and timely guidance to students and stakeholders regarding policies and procedures;
- Monitor compliance and performance as students’ progress through their placements;
- Coordinate the submission of student assessments including reports, fieldwork competency forms from placement facilities and supervisor;
- Day to day liaison with clinicians and other staff at St John of God Hospital

**You will bring to the role**
- A diploma qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with proven experience in providing quality client service is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in data entry and the ability to maintain accurate records is required, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage conflicting priorities, work autonomously as well as part of a team, and develop strong working relationships with various stakeholders is paramount to your success in this role.

Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital-based setting would be highly regarded.

St John of God, Midland opened in 2015, the hospital is a new facility that has been designed to provide an environment that is welcoming to all, including nine courtyards and landscaped gardens for staff to enjoy.

The hospital has 307 public beds and 60 private beds covering a range of medical, surgical and mental health services. The hospital also offers free parking for staff and is located close to public transport.
