**The Role**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AOD Counsellor to join our Community Services team located in St Kilda. You will play a critical role in reducing AOD related harms by conducting assessments and providing a range of counselling interventions that increase clients' capacity to effectively manage the problems they are experiencing associated with AOD use and to promote recovery. This is a permanent part-time position and you will be required to work on site.

**Who we're looking for**

**The person we're looking for will have**:

- Capacity to provide counselling, AOD interventions within the context of a harm minimisation and recovery philosophy, and skills in a range of counselling approaches relevant to individual and group therapeutic work.
- Solid knowledge of the forensic drug and alcohol treatment system and the treatment models that are effective and utilised in this space.
- Capacity to work with people with co-occurring AOD and psychiatric presentations & people involved in the criminal justice system.
- Capacity to work with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
