**About You**

We are looking for a friendly, respectful, caring, willing to learn and help others in need. Someone who will go above and beyond for the participants/ clients is willing to actively listen and want to help them achieve their goals. The ability to build strong relationships with the participants/ clients and other stakeholders is a **MUST**, as this is the best way to provide great quality support for people with disabilities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide individual support services and direct care for people with disability both low and complex needs
- Support the client in community participation programs
- Provide accurate and detailed incident reports, progress notes and shift handovers
- Supporting with domestic activities and assistance with personal care
- Manual handling including hoist transfers - manual, electric / assisted standing
- Medication assistance
- Assist with shopping and meal preparation
- Willingness to work with individuals with complex behaviours of concern
- Maintaining records of client progress.
- Maintain standard and transmission-based infection prevention precautions.
- And much more tasks as required.

**Successful Applicants Must Have**:

- Ability to work **independently** and **effectively** whilst managing your time
- The ability to support participants to achieve social and self-care goals
- Commitment to undertake in-house **training** and **professional development** as required
- **Reliability** and **flexibility** to work a variety of shift times
- Effective **verbal** and **written** communication skills (**MANDATORY**)
- **High level of Manual Handling skills **and experience such as using hoist, sliding sheet, assisting transferring in and out of bed and most have completed a Manual Handling Certificate (**MANDATORY**)
- Victorian - Current Driver’s Licence (**MANDATORY**).
- Infection Control Training & Medication Training. **(MANDATORY or Willing to undergo training)**:

- Reliable Car with FULL **Comprehensive Insurance **(**MANDATORY**).
- National/ International Criminal History Check with Victorian Address (**MANDATORY**).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check completed required by the NDIS with Victorian Address (**MANDATORY**).
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (online)
- Current Certificate 2-3 in First Aid (must be valid) and CPR (must be valid), or willing to complete prior to commencement (**MANDATORY**)
- Completed a Certificate 3 or 4 in Disability or Individual Support (**MANDATORY**)
- Victorian - Working with Children's Check (**MANDATORY**)
- Be Covid-19 Fully Vaccinated plus booster - if required (**MANDATORY**)
- Right to work in Australia (**MANDATORY**)
- 2-3 relevant, professional and industry-related reference checks

Prior experience in support worker roles is preferred, but those with less experience are also encouraged to apply.
