**The role**:
We have a dynamic opportunity for a Laboratory Trainer at our Sorbonne Crescent facility in Canning Vale. You will be looking to use your superior technical knowledge in all areas of our minerals processing laboratory to train and develop the employees in the department. You will be excited by the challenges of our business and the variety this role offers ensuring both short term and long term objectives are met.
Some of your tasks will be, but not limited to:
- Ensure correct operational procedures are used and adhered to
- Ensure staff are adequately trained and are assisted when required
- Ensure quality and quantity of work meets laboratory benchmarks
- Communicating any Quality concerns to the relevant parties
- Quality Procedures and relevant standards, including NATA requirements, applied, and always adhered to
- Attend and participate in Quality training and toolbox talks as required
- Actively participate in Quality reviews, meetings, and audits
- Perform equipment calibration as per schedule
- Create and maintain all training records and to fill in for supervisors or Coordinators as required
- Provides training and assessment for new and existing employees in the form of inductions, procedures, instructions, training, and assessment material
- Ensure personnel perform duties and meet expectations regarding optimum level of production and quality at all times including QHSE
**What’s needed?**
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Experience working in a mineral processing laboratory is required
- Bachelor of Science or related course is highly regarded
- Train the trainer qualification is highly regarded
- Technical knowledge with XRF equipment including manual fusion, robotic fusion and XRF spectrometer is highly regarded
- RSO license is highly regarded
- Experience working in a similar leadership role is preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proficient computer software literacy
- Excellent organisational, teamwork, problem solving and communication skills
