- Data Analyst to join Westpac Group’s Central Data Team - Chief Transformation Office (CTO)
The Central Data team is a capability (Centre of Excellence) that drives implementation consistency across Specialist Businesses Division (SBD Divestment programs) providing execution leadership and support to separate the data of divesting businesses. This results in better execution against Westpac’s risk and regulatory agenda, cost efficiencies, and simplification.
The Centre of Excellence is resourced by an expert team providing business and technology leadership to the programs, verbal and written guidance, business separation advice, and hands-on problem solving of the most complex data separation and segregation issues.
**How will I help?**
We are looking for a passionate Data Analyst who enjoy working with data both structured or unstructured to support the Central Data team for 12 months. The Data Analyst will be looking at large volumes of data for reporting purposes, for reconciliations and for assurance and correctness of the data provided. You will also help with analysing the requirements, designing business and technical data assurance rules for validation and provide program level reporting.
This role also involves:
- Analysis of business requirement documents, technical specifications, data assurance principles etc to understand the data constructs involved, their complexity and assurance requirements.
- Stakeholder engagements to understand requirements, present treatment plans and reports
- Understanding requirements and designing business and technical data assurance rules for unstructured data assets
- Participation through joint dress rehearsals and technical dry runs
- Data assurance activities including spot checks and reconciliations.
- Reviewing automated data assurance reports, reconciliation reports
- Providing program level consolidated assurance reports
**What do I need?**
- Proven experience as a data analyst - financial or superannuation experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- Strong knowledge of data constructs, data relationships and databases
- SQL expertise is preferred
- Experience working across data divestments would be highly desirable
- Exceptional stakeholder management and engagement skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
