The Security Supervisor, Investigations and Communication, acts as the 2IC support to the Security Manager in the delivery of the University’s security strategy and provides leadership for the investigations and operational functions. This role requires a high degree of flexibility, to oversee a range of operational activities including conducting and coordinating major investigations, timely production and distribution of Incident Reports, overseeing aspects of operational security delivery, risk assessments, proactive security risk reduction strategies, training of security personnel and assisting with the development and management of security arrangements for special events/VIP visits. Furthermore, this role works closely with the Security Manager to drive continuous change and improvements relating to business continuity.

The team works through a 24/7, 12-hour shift roster to provide security services to the university.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Extensive experience in investigations, particularly relating to evidence gathering and interviewing suspects and witnesses.
- Excellent operational management, interpersonal and communication skills and customer service skills with proven ability to provide authoritative technical and policy advice.
- Demonstrated experience in managing rosters and motivating a high-performance team to optimise provision of 24/7 Security Services and coverage across site.
- Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills including demonstrated ability to analyse risk and data trends and provide detailed business reports and deliver positive solutions to complex problems.
- A sound knowledge of computer systems used for alarm management, access control, CCTV and incident recording and the ability to use these systems to identify unlawful activity or manage major incidents
- Tertiary qualifications in a security/risk management environment and or/experience in the tertiary sector is highly preferred. _
