**My client**

My client is an Australian Technology development company with a focus on disruptive technologies, including Blockchain (DLT), Artificial Intelligence, Low Code Development Platforms, 5G and Internet of Things Application.

**With the growth of the business my client is looking for an experienced** Compliance Officer who's role is to ensure that the group's business processes and procedures adhere to laws, rules, and regulations in the markets that they operate. The role will develop and introduce effective controls for tracking, documenting, and remediating regulatory risks.

**The opportunity**

Reporting to the COO you will be responsible for establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organisation are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting non-compliance with applicable licensing conditions, laws, and regulations.

**The role**

As the Compliance Officer you will be comfortable with taking a hands-on approach and will be in charge of creating and implementing successful remediation programs. You will instruct the compliance team and heads of departments by identifying and resolving issues discovered during testing and compliance risk assessment.

You will build a strong compliance framework and continue to provide reasonable assurance to Senior Management and the Board that the company adheres to regulations. You will ensure effective and efficient policies and procedures are in place, well understood and respected by all employees, and breaches or incidents are properly monitored, managed, and documented.

**The responsibilities of the role are;**
- To oversee compliance within the company to ensure our operational and financial systems and processes are as per relevant legislation for payments and digital asset institutions in Europe, Australia and other planned markets;
- Develop policies and programs that encourage managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties without fear of retaliation;
- You will establish standards and implement procedures to ensure that my client's compliance programs are effective in identifying, preventing, and addressing non-compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements;
- You will plan and coordinate regulatory risk assessments, both planned and trigger-based, to recommend business operation improvements to both the Senior Management and the Board;
- You will monitor and analyse deficiencies and irregularities to provide effective solutions;
- Oversee investigation, incident case management and escalation.
- Communicate with regulatory and law enforcement agencies to ensure the company complies with applicable relevant licensing conditions, laws, and regulations;
- Organise and supervise the activities of the compliance department;
- Develop and oversee compliance training for the management and employees; and
- Report key concerns and violations to the CEO, CFO, Board and Risk Committee

**About you**

You will also have the following experience and skills:

- 3-5 years of experience in compliance management; preferably in the financial services sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (master's degree is preferred)
- ACAM or ICA accredited (preferred);
- Knowledge of key legislative frameworks and compliance requirements, in particular AML/CTF and Privacy Laws;
- Experience interacting with regulatory authorities;
- Detailed knowledge of the industry and applicable laws and regulations;
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills as well as proven leadership; and
- Ability to form, mentor, and manage efficient teams
