A rare opportunity has become available for a Chaplain to join our team at our beautiful flagship site - ANZAC Village, Narrabeen._
Reporting into the Village Manager, you will work closely alongside a second Chaplain and our Lifestyle and Community staff to lead spiritual services across our Narrabeen site. More particularly, this role will provide ecumenical pastoral, wellbeing and emotional support to residents in our aged care facilities and retirement living residents.
Creating a confidential and non-judgmental space for open communication, you'll empower and assist residents during challenging moments. The role is a full-time permanent position, however there may be flexibility to negotiate hours of work.

Your main duties will include:
- Partnering with a second Chaplain and Lifestyle & Community staff to develop the spiritual and wellbeing programs of RSL LifeCare across Narrabeen.- Maintaining active and healthy relationships with staff, residents and families of all faiths and backgrounds.- Visiting residents on admission and ongoing periodically.- Providing one-on-one support to residents to foster spirituality at home.- Providing compassionate and experienced Pastoral Care and/or Pastoral Counselling.- Providing bereavement support to families and residents experiencing grief and loss.- Leading commemorative services including Anzac and Remembrance Day.- Facilitating Christian chapel services, bible studies, and other groups.- Leading funerals.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- To align with and uphold and promote the values of RSL Lifecare.- A thorough understanding of chaplaincy principles and practices.- Exhibit genuine dedication to serving the elderly community.- Demonstrate theological reflection or possess formal qualifications in pastoral theology.- Pursue or obtain a Diploma of Chaplaincy within 2 years of starting.- To maintain good standing within one's denomination and representing RSL LifeCare with integrity.- Possess a current driver's license and reliable registered vehicle.- Have knowledge of conditions common in the elderly, including dementia.
In addition, you will need to be:
- Adaptable and flexible to manage conflicting priorities and day-to-day expectations of residents and their families.- Experienced in retirement living or aged care (highly regarded)- Veteran experience (highly regarded)- Able to create and introduce wellbeing initiatives.- Capable of organising and prioritising your own workload demonstrating high attention to detail.- Committed to following complex internal policies, industry standards and government regulations.Please note all applicants will need to undertake a NDIS Worker Screening check and National Police Clearance Check.
