**About the Role**
The Community Engagement Advisor is part of a centalised Community Engagement team that works closely with the Communications team and relevant business units to deliver community engagement projects.

You will be aligned to several business units within the organisation which you will work closely with to build strong relationships, design and deliver their community engagement requirements and report back on engagement outcomes.

The advice and support you provide will be in line with best practice under the IAP2 framework ensuring compliance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy.

The Community Engagement Advisor works under the direction of the Community Engagement Coordinator to implement Community Engagement Programs and activities which support Council strategies, business plans and objectives.

**About you**
We are looking for someone who is proactive, efficient and team oriented with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.

You will have a passion for people and enjoy connecting, networking and engaging with others. You will also have the ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people, building strong rapport and trusted relationships along the way.

**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline plus relevant experience OR less formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience
- Experience working in the field of community engagement
- Experience in the use of digital platforms and social media for engagement activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience implementing the principles of sound community engagement under the IAP2 framework (desirable)

**Other information**
- _Out of hours work_ - Some out of hours work may be required to deliver community engagement initiatives and attend meetings, with time in lieu provided.
