**Job Summary**:
The Maintenance Planning & Spares Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the quality of maintenance work by proactively addressing potential delays and challenges. This specialist is tasked with the meticulous planning and coordination of resources, including parts procurement, allocation of machine time, and trades labour allocation. The primary goal is to ensure that maintenance operations are meticulously organised and carried out, optimising equipment uptime and reliability in a financially prudent way, all while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Review spares requisition and initiate procurement of the required spares in a timely manner.
- Update spare requisition sheet with required details.
- Develop, schedule, and coordinate maintenance plans for all production equipment and facilities.
- Analyse job requests and work orders to determine work priorities, and plan work schedules accordingly.
- Estimate required labour hours, parts, and materials for each job; prepare necessary requisitions and liaise with procurement to ensure timely availability of resources.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize downtime and disruption to manufacturing processes.
- Support the wider Maintenance and Engineer team in developing and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate the acquisition of necessary parts and materials, and manage the scheduling of machinery and workforce.
- Strategically plan and organise maintenance activities to prevent disruptions and enhance equipment performance.
- Ensure that maintenance procedures are conducted in line with cost-efficiency principles without compromising on quality.
- Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental policies throughout all maintenance processes.

**Required (Education, Knowledge required, Language skills, etc)**:

- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with SAP and the Google Suite.
- Strong understanding of maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
