ABOUT THE ROLE

The client is embarking on a program of work to deliver an Enterprise Data and Analytics Service (EDAS) consisting of a modern data platform, new data governance processes and an uplift of data maturity across the organisation towards making out client data driven.

This project team is newly formed and will double in size over the next 3 months and then further grow through with additional delivery squads later in the year.

The Scrum Master will be responsible for coordinating the delivery team and ensuing work progresses through the delivery processes as effectively as possible. The role will be given high autonomy to review and refine the delivery approach to reduce bottle necks and expedite delivery. The role will also work closely with the Project Manager and Change Manager to plan delivery so that business value can be delivered in balance with technical re-work.
This is a multi-year program being conducted from Sunwater's modern facilities in the heart of Fortitude Valley but with high flexibility in remote working.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage sprints and use appropriate techniques and tools to ensure work stays on track, and issues/blockers are resolved or escalated quickly. Drive daily stand-ups and agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives.
- Work with Business Analysts, Solution Architect and Data Modeller and manage the ongoing creation of the backlog and ensure items meet entry criteria (definition of ready) before progressing to delivery.
- With the Solution Architect, Data Engineering Lead and Test Manager ensure work items are correctly delivered and releases are of a high quality.
- With the Project Manager and Change Manager, manage the release process ensuring seamless integration of new releases into the existing product offering.
- Guide/coach project team members and as required business stakeholders in Agile methodology.
- Assist the Project Manager in strategic planning to meet business value with minimising technical rework.
- Help drive a good team culture where individuals enjoy work and feel their contribution is valued.
- Willing to take on additional duties when personal workload is low towards the greater success of the team - e.g. assist with business analysis, on the technical deliverables or assist the project manger

TECHNICAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient working as a Scrum Master in Azure DevOps, or extensive experience in a similar product (e.g. Jira) for the management of Agile delivery.
- Experience at release management and coordination with business change teams.
- Experience with Confluence and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of data warehouse approaches.
- Knowledge and understanding in Azure technologies sufficient to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of CI/CD and the management of, in an agile setting.
- 3+ years working as a Scrum Master or similar role.
- A degree in IT, Business or related field.
- Relevant Scrum Master qualifications.
- Preferred experience delivering Business Intelligence solutions in greenfield environments, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
- Flexibility and adaptability; able to work in ambiguous situations with resilience, tenacity, and a propensity to persevere.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills including the ability to communicate with and influence people, including members of senior leadership teams.
