Smart Space was founded in 2019, intent on giving high school students charismatic and effective tuition.

We are a tutoring centre based in Rockdale, Sydney, that is owned and run by a brother and sister duo. Our team is comprised of experienced tutors who have expertise in their fields and a passion for making education fun and engaging. Our mission is to connect students with a mentor who will motivate, encourage, and inspire them.
- English and Mathematics from Years 7-10
- Mathematics (Standard and Advanced), Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Business Studies, and Economics.

As a secondary English tutor at Smart Space, you will join a team of devoted and charismatic youthful tutors, planning and delivering private and small group English lessons to students from Years 7-12.

You will interact with a wide variety of students, vivifying often bland classroom content and inspiring students to appreciate literature and the English language. English is often perceived by students as laborious and nonsensical, we want you to change that

**About You**:

- **Strong command of the English language**: Ability to articulate your thoughts confidently and spontaneously in verbal and written form.
- **Experience in education or working with children**: Whether this be previous teaching or tutoring roles, public speaking, hospitality, even theatre - anything that shows us you can captivate your students in both individual and group lessons.
- **Knowledgeable**:A rich knowledge of English literature, the HSC English syllabus, common text types and conventions, and a strong intuitive grasp of relevant disciplines such as philosophy, history, psychology, religion, etc.
- **Excellent academic results**:both in HSC English (90+) and if currently studying, in your university course.
- **Dynamic**:Ability to rapidly adapt to the variety of students and situations that may arise in the ever-changing classroom environment.
- **Empathetic**:Serious about cultivating genuine relationships with every student, not only to diagnose weak spots, but to create a setting where students feel comfortable challenging themselves and one another.
- **Engaging**:A charismatic educator, able to enliven high school English content for even the most disengaged of students.

**Job Type**: Freelance

**Salary**: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Flexible hours
- Weekend availability

- Rockdale, NSW: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
