About the job

Our Kwinana Refinery is currently looking for a Laboratory Analyst on a permanent basis, working a12-hour shift roster consisting of 2 days, 2 nights, and 5 days off.

Reporting directly to the Laboratory supervisor it will be a requirement to complete routine and non-routine laboratory analyses as determined by the work schedule. You will instigate repeat sampling and analysis for unusual results and potential problems with sample integrity. We are looking for someone who prides themselves in doing their role not only to a high standard but also in a safe way

Having a strong ability to think analytically and enter data accurately into information systems by verifying data and conducting comparisons with historical performance trends and reviews is crucial for success

Other roles and responsibilities include.- Assists in trouble shooting refinery process issues.- Quality Systems Records laboratory control data on control charts and identifies deviations and trends.- Records corrective actions and assists in rectifying the out-of-control situations.- Follows detailed standards and methods required to maintain the laboratories ISO accreditation under direction.- Assists in the development, continuous improvement, and maintenance of laboratory standard operations.- Calibrates laboratory equipment as required for analytical work.- Completes operational maintenance and basic trouble shooting on laboratory equipment.- Ensures their own and others safety by complying to safety and environmental rules, standards and regulations.- Sees opportunities to improve safety systems and work practices in the laboratory and refinery.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Laboratory Practices Certificate - TAFE Qualification- Knowledge & Training Develops Bayer Process would be highly regarded- Experience in communication with technical and operating personnel.- A validated understanding of the impact of the laboratory analysis results on the operations of the refinery.- Previous experience in the training of laboratory staff
