**About the Role**:
Primo Foods currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced **Mechanical Engineering Technician** at our facility in Chullora, Sydney. This role will be responsible for providing maintenance across the plant where required, providing leadership and support across the business to drive a culture of continuous improvement. The annual salary for this position will be above $70,000 plus superannuation.

**Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:

- Ensure the availability, reliability and capability of the plant assets.
- Monitor, follow-up and address issues associated with the implementation and process of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
- Continuous improvement of plant equipment and systems
- Communication with management in relation to equipment and maintenance issues
- Understand and implement quality control techniques.
- Proactive approach in the implementation of preventative maintenance
- Be actively involved with the inspections of equipment undergoing rebuild or repair.
- Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
- Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements

**About you**:

- Experience in repairs and maintenance in an electro-mechanical discipline or similar.
- Experience in maintenance in an FMCG food environment.
- Effective problem-solving ability
- A thorough understanding of maintenance work & practices
- Experience gained from a heavy industrial organisation or similar.
- Specific experience in meat processing equipment namely, Treif Slicers and dicers, Ishida multi-head weighers, Vemag Fillers, Multivac Thermoformers, & Bizerba metal detectors and labelling systems.
- Proven ability to lead by example, engage and motivate others.
- The ability to implement technical equipment improvements.
- Proven experience with PLC’s and troubleshooting
- Ability to work weekends where required.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
