**The Department**:
The Pharmacy service operates over 4 sites within Northern Health and has a strong vision to deliver exceptional, evidenced-based care to our patients - with a clear focus on research, medication safety and clinical excellence. We are currently undergoing a large period of expansion and specialisation, creating exciting opportunities for individuals keen to challenge themselves and progress their professional knowledge and skills.
**The Positions**:
These Pharmacy Technician roles are an integral part of our growing team, which comprises of over 100 pharmacists and close to 40 technicians.The successful applicants will join a very supportive operational team, providing medication management and supply services covering a wide-range of patient cohorts and clinics.
**Grade 2 Technician - Dispensary**
Fixed term full time until February 2025.
**Grade 2 Technician - Community Programs**
Ongoing full time.
**Grade 2 Technician - Operational Cover**
Ongoing part time (0.6 EFT).
**Grade 3 Technician - Medical Team**
Ongoing full time.
**Grade 3 Technician - Heart Failure & Surgical**
Ongoing full time.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Providing pharmacy services by working as part of the dispensary team to efficiently supply medicines to patients in all areas of the hospital.
- Management of pharmaceutical inventory from expiry checks, ordering, receipting and stock replenishment
- Work in accordance with the pharmacy standard operating procedures
- Support other pharmacy services such as the clinical service and participate in quality improvement and research activities
- Mentoring and supervising pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns and undergraduate students, as well as providing education to staff from other disciplines

**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Grade 2 - Completed or currently completing Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent qualification.
- Grade 3 - Completed or currently completing Certificate IV in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent qualification
- Ability to produce a service of excellence by use of Quality Improvement techniques and be familiar with National Standards Accreditation requirements
- Previous exposure to a broad range of pharmacy services in the general hospital field.
- Good time management and organisational skills are a must.
