It provides services to a range of different locations (over 100) spread across the state on a 24 hour a day basis.

The Information, Systems and Technology Service (IS&T) are transforming the way it delivers outcomes to SAPOL, including modernisation of its information security practice. This includes new technologies and ways of working, and we are seeking people with diverse skills and attributes to contribute to the broader ICT vision for the organisation.

**Your new role**

As the Technical Security Specialist, you will be responsible for providing Leadership of critical IT security functions within SA Police. You will also be responsible for providing security-related expertise in security consulting, advisory, analysis and facilitation, as well as bringing expert knowledge across technical security, threat, and risk assessments to support new and current projects, and IT operations.

As the Senior Technical Security Specialist, you will also be responsible for ensuring effective co-ordination of day-to-day security function delivery by the team, and closely managing incidents, driving problem management to prevent reoccurrence and future issues.

**What you’ll need to succeed**

Mandatory for being successful as a Technical Security Specialist or Senior Technical Security Specialist;
- Ability and willingness to undertake a Police record check.
- Have an Australian Government Baseline clearance, or be able to obtain a Baseline clearance.
- Experience in managing or mentoring a team of cyber security specialists.
- Expert knowledge of current IT security controls and solutions.
- Strong risk management expertise.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and the South Australian Cyber Security Framework.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of some of the following:

- Cyber security governance, risk and compliance.
- Enterprise Security Architecture.
- Security solutions, such as;
- Intrusion prevention and detection.
- End point management.
- Digital certificates and PKI.
- Traditional and cloud-based identity and access management.
- Managing cyber incidents.
- Vulnerability management processes.
- Cloud security.
- Expert knowledge and experience in design, deployment, administration of security controls and configuration, device hardening and auditing.

**AS08 Senior Technical Security Specialist** $119,317 - $123,822
