**About Puffing Billy Railway**

Located in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges, _Puffing Billy Railway_ is Australia's premier preserved steam railway. Operating on the original mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook, this century-old train offers a range of fun-filled experiences for visitors one and all.

A major tourist attraction, _Puffing Billy Railway_ attracts large numbers of both local and international tourists each year and operates every day except Christmas Day, thanks to the tireless efforts of more than 500 volunteers and a small team of dedicated staff.

**About the Opportunity**
- Puffing Billy Railway_ has opportunities available for individuals with a background and interest in outdoor laboring work to be trained and to work in heritage rail track maintenance.

These full-time positions contribute to ensuring all aspects of the _Puffing Billy Railway_ infrastructure and corridor are constructed and maintained to the appropriate national safety and compliance standards.

Based at Belgrave with local travel required between existing _Puffing Billy Railway_ sites the standard work hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 3.30 pm.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

- Track construction and maintenance
- Safe and efficient operation of plant vehicles and plant
- Bushfire fuel reduction work along the rail corridor
- Other tasks as directed

We are looking for people who:

- have a current (preferably manual) Driver's Licence
- are physically fit, hard working and reliable
- have a willingness to learn new skills

Importantly, we are looking for people who can communicate in an effective manner and are willing to work cooperatively in a team environment. We are looking for people who use their initiative, can problem solve and can effectively multi-task.

**Please note**: Before commencing, you will need to hold a driver’s license, current employee Working with Children Check (we can help you acquire this), participate in a National Criminal History Check and undertake a Category 3 Rail Safety Health Assessment Medical.

Please note: Some weekend work will be required. Work will be carried out in a variety of working and weather conditions with suitable PPE supplied.
