- Exciting opportunity to join ANSTO's Environmental Monitoring team supporting ANSTO's research and nuclear operations

**About the Opportunity**:
The Environmental Monitoring Officer characterises ANSTO’s radiological effluent releases and associated environmental footprint through conducting the Environmental Monitoring Program. This position supports the Environmental Monitoring Senior Scientists to complete the scheduled program of sampling, radioanalytical measurements and compliance reporting to stakeholders and regulators.

**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Conduct monitoring of ANSTO’s airborne stack emissions including collection and preparation of samples and completing radiological analysis within the specified timeframe.
- Prepare a weekly Stack Discharge Report that fulfils licencing, QA and ANSTO requirements.
- Collection, processing and chemical /radiological analysis of various environmental samples from the Lucas Heights site and local area in accordance with the Environmental Monitoring program.
- Develop proficiency in radio-analytical techniques including gamma spectroscopy, liquid scintillation counting and alpha/beta counting techniques.
