MedSTAR is South Australia's unique 24-hour emergency medical retrieval service that allows medical teams to reach the victims of serious accidents and medical emergencies faster than ever before. We are dedicated to providing the people of South Australia with the highest level of emergency medical patient care, treatment and transport. As a Retrieval Consultant, you will provide mentoring, support and clinical supervision for Retrieval Registrars and Fellows, other Retrieval Consultants, Paramedics and Nurses in the retrieval service. You will also undertake autonomous assessment and management of urgent and critical children and neonates within the scope of response of the retrieval service. Assisting the Director Clinical Services, Head Of Units and other members of the SAAS MedSTAR leadership team in strategic planning and organising the delivery of emergency medical retrieval services, you will also contribute to medical teaching and training programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This will include attending, and from time to time running, regular retrieval service educational sessions.

You will hold a postgraduate qualification allowing for specialist registration in Neonatology, Paediatrics, Paediatric Intensive Care or Paediatric Emergency Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). A team player who is adaptable to chance, you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, including high level decision making and problem solving skills.
