***About the Role**

This role sits within the 2nd Line of Defence Risk and Governance team and works to develop, review and update icare’s suite of enterprise Risk and Governance policies, frameworks and associated procedures, and guidance documents to ensure they are fit for purpose and enable a robust control framework.

The role collaborates closely with stakeholders from across the business in drafting content and through all stages of the review lifecycle to ensure documents are developed and applied in a way that achieves the intended purpose and that they support icare’s objectives and strategic direction.

**Duties**

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as **Policy Advisor** you will:

- Draft, review and update a wide range of enterprise risk and governance policies on a cyclical basis in line with icare’s Policy Governance Framework, and on an ad hoc basis as needed.
- Undertake research, analysis, and review of industry and government policy requirements to ensure compliance with all relevant obligations.
- Prepare expert and timely advice to inform and support relevant stakeholders including senior leaders about policy directions, obligations, and best practice.
- Collaborate with other icare business units and specialist areas within Risk and Governance to develop appropriately tailored policies for icare that are aligned to strategic objectives.
- Prepare high quality written reports / briefs to inform senior management, Group Executives and Board Directors about new, updated, or unchanged frameworks and policies as required.

**Skills & Experience**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a policy context responsible for drafting frameworks and policies and supporting processes, procedures and other guidance material.
- Demonstrated understanding of risk and compliance management in the government sector, financial services or insurance industries.
- Excellent writing skills including synthesising information concisely using plain English in a range of styles and formats for diverse audiences.
- Highly motivated and engaging individual with exceptional stakeholder management skills who will listen to, consult and work in close partnership with stakeholders.
