The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Traineeship is a pilot project of the Victorian Government to assist in training and recruiting new entrants into the AOD sector. The AOD Trainee is required to develop the skills and knowledge to assist in the delivery of high-quality care to individuals who are seeking assistance with an AOD issue. By creating relationships within the service system in our region the AOD Trainee will gain experience networking and gain knowledge of the AOD work within the sector.

It also delivers assessment, rehabilitation and allied health services to neighbouring shires. **This Role**
The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Traineeship is a pilot project of the Victorian Government to assist in training and recruiting new entrants into the AOD sector. The AOD Trainee is required to develop the skills and knowledge to assist in the delivery of high-quality care to individuals who are seeking assistance with an AOD issue. By creating relationships within the service system in our region the AOD Trainee will gain experience networking and gain knowledge of the AOD work within the sector.
The successful applicants must be willing to undertake and complete a Certificate IV Alcohol and other Drugs course. The cost of the course will be provided as part of the traineeship, and time will be allocated during working hours to allow for study. Applicants who have already commenced study will also be considered. This position involves being part of a team and having an experienced AOD mentor in order to learn to provide counselling services to individuals with AOD issues.
Applicants who have a lived experience of issues with alcohol or other drugs are also encouraged to apply.
