**Position Information**:
Empire Bay Public School has an enrolment of 472 students, including 29 Aboriginal students and 9% from a non-English speaking background. Our school is well-regarded within the community, with proactive and supportive parental involvement. Parents and staff have high expectations for all students to maximise their learning potential and our school has previously been a part of the Visible Learning community. The students thrive in an environment that offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as: dance, public speaking and debating, gardening club, sport, choir and band. The school has a cohesive mix of experienced and early career teachers who promote the implementation of high quality, cross-curricular teaching and learning programs and fosters a culture of life-long, engaged learners. Empire Bay Public School has a strong focus on academic and wellbeing growth for all students and is an active and proud member of the Brisbane Water Learning Community and Koorana AECG. We are well-recognised in the wider community for our strong sustainability approach and whole school STEM projects.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with organisational expertise in leading, managing and inspiring stage-based teams and effective whole school initiatives.
Excellence in initiating, building and strengthening relationships and partnerships with the broader community.
Proven ability to lead and build teacher capacity in the implementation of high-quality, differentiated early literacy and numeracy programs by using effective assessment and data analysis to maximise student learning and engagement.
Demonstrated ability to lead teachers in incorporating Aboriginal perspectives into their programs. (AECG)
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
