**Role**:
The Leading Teacher is an instructional leader who is a highly skilled classroom practitioner and is known for improved achievement, engagement and wellbeing for students. This Leading Teacher demonstrates particular strength in building the co-curricular engagement of students at Phoenix. The leading teacher will actively contribute to the Culture School Improvement Team (SIT) to deliver effective planning, implementation and evaluation of:

- Program, services and activities which build engagement and wellbeing outcomes of students from Foundation to Year 12.
- Policies and processes that enable to the College to offer students a wide range of activities both during the school day and after school.
- Engage with key leaders and community agencies to respond to the voice of our students with regards to the provision of co-curricular activities.
- Cross program co-ordination to ensure consistent delivery models and standards, including considerations of Child Safe Standards.
- Building teacher capacity as it relates to implementation of health and wellbeing practices through communication, coaching, co-planning and lesson observation (which includes the protocols for observation, feedback and peer collaboration).

**Responsibilities**:
**The Leading Teacher - College Programs and Co-curricular Engagement will**:

- Demonstrate high level expertise in teaching and assessment, through having an open classroom and undertaking lesson observation.
- Work alongside the Principal, Assistant Principals to identify and respond to student needs for co
- curricular activities.
- Identify community partners to compliment the delivery of co-curricular programs.
- Communicate the College's co-curricular programs to key stake holders.
- Document co-curricular programs and responsibly utilise associated budgets.
- Work with the PLC planning team (as required) to ensure the effective implementation of PLC cycles at the College.
- Assist with effective implementation of the PDP process.
- Work with the College's leadership team to build collaborative practices, through effective implementation of Phoenix protocols which build collective efficacy.
- Work with other learning specialists and leading teachers to establish a Community of Practice (COP) which focuses on building collective leader and teacher efficacy.
- Work as an active member of the Culture SIT team and in collaboration with appropriate other Assistant Principals, Learning Specialists and Leading Teacher
- Identify improvement opportunities and undertake other tasks as delegated by the Principal.

**Key Targets**:

- Student learning outcomes as identified in the Schools Strategic Plan, Annual Implementation Plan and SIT Narrative.
- Teacher practice as identified through PLC and Staff Opinion survey.
- Student engagement and wellbeing as identified through student wellbeing survey, PAT wellbeing survey and resilience project student survey.
