Environmental Tradeperson

**Job description**

IPA are looking for an experienced Environmental Tradesperson to work for the City of Gosnells

The staff member must have experience working in the outdoors and the maintenance of natural bushland areas, including weed spraying, native and exotic plant identification, tree planting and the operation of small plant, tools and equipment, while also willing to work in all kinds of weather.

The following clothing is required: steel cap boots, long sleeve hi vis shirt, long pants, wet weather hi vis jacket, broad-rimmed hat, optional is wet weather pants. The City can provide PPE such as gloves and safety glasses.

**Essential -** Certificate III or higher in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent or significant relevant experience, White Card and Chemical Application qualification to an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 3 Standard. Recent police clearance.
- **What you are responsible for**_
- Completes planned rehabilitation, management and maintenance programs within natural areas, including: fauna monitoring, rubbish removal, dieback, weed control and revegetation.
- Undertakes visits to bushland and environmental assets to identify threats to the biodiversity of these areas.
- Identifies weeds and implement suitable control processes.
- Undertakes regeneration site works and planting.
- Assists in the preparation of field reports and undertake weed mapping.
- Supports any activities undertaken by friends groups.
- Maintains professional and courteous relationships with the general public and other staff.
- Operates and maintains small plant.
