**About the role**

This is a new position reporting to the Operations Manager at our Fremantle Terminal and will provide the successful applicant with challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our local and supportive Fremantle team in a full-time leadership role. As the Landside Superintendent you will be responsible for the planning, direction and execution of landside operations in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner.

**Key responsibilities**

The role is a front-line leadership role working as part of a team to ensure that the businesses operational resources are effectively managed to meet our operational requirements and meet performance targets with some of the key responsibilities including:

- Leading and effectively managing landside resources safely to meet work priorities, as well as customer, and business requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive better business performance.
- Employ planning strategies to identify opportunities improved operational performance.
- Monitor the financial targets, ensuring costs are controlled and revenue maximised.
- Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation and deployment of resources to meet all operational and customer needs, including oversight of workforce roster planning and leave management to ensure that labour resources are available and allocated to meet the business needs.
- Prepare and maintain statistical performance data, as required.
- Conduct regular safety interactions to assist employees in their safety development and ensure compliance with safe work practices and WHS&E statutory requirements.
- Support business development activities and projects.

**Experience, Skills & Qualifications**

To be successful in the role you will ideally have a background the transport, maritime or stevedoring industries with strong leadership qualities and management experience with the preferred experience, skills and qualifications including:

- Tertiary qualifications in maritime, logistics or another relevant field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in similar role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of operations, preferably of stevedoring and transport industries.
- Demonstrated extensive business acumen, strategic thinking, and business planning skills.
- High level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with an ability to effectively manage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Substantial knowledge of road coordination and terminal operations.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to partner with the terminal management team to drive business performance.
- Good knowledge of competency-based training, assessment, and employee development.
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental Legislation and standards.
- Experience in Supervising safety in the workplace.
- High level of computer literacy, competent in the use of terminal operating systems as well as labour planning and rostering software.
