**About the role**
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Data Strategist to lead and develop our division’s analytical strategy. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a data-driven culture, supporting efficient data management, and driving analytics across the division. You will work closely with the Associate Director of Business Analytics and Intelligence, helping to define, update, and implement the data and information strategy to ensure it aligns with the division's goals.
You will be responsible for understanding how data is used across the branches and providing guidance on best practices for data management, analysis, and reporting to ensure actionable insights are delivered.
**What you will do**
- Lead and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of data models and information architecture, ensuring workflows, logical processes, and system interfaces meet business requirements and comply with governance standards.
- Define, update, and implement the data and information strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide guidance on efficient data management practices and ensure the strategic use of data across all branches.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
- Drive continuous improvement in data-related processes to enhance decision-making across the division.
**About you**
We are seeking a motivated and committed individual who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, data architecture, or a related field and/or equivalent professional experience.
- Expertise in developing the architecture of complex performance projects.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in statistical techniques, including the ability to develop and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative analyses. This includes demonstrated experience in data mining and preparing business-focused solutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NSW Health system, particularly in relation to financial data management, finance systems, activity data collections, and major data health systems.
