**The opportunity**:
Visy is a globally recognised industry leader in the production of quality paper and paper products, manufactured at our production facility situated in Smithfield, NSW Australia.

Reporting to the site Operations Manager, you will be developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE policies and procedures, conducting HSE training for employees, monitoring compliance with regulations and company policies, and conducting audits and inspections to identify potential hazards. You will also assist in providing leadership and coaching to ensure safety and environmental considerations are incorporated into everything Visy does.

**Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to**:

- Implement and maintain HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards
- Conduct HSE training/Safety Toolbox Talks to site Managers and Supervisors
- Monitor compliance with regulations and company policies, and provide guidance and support to management and employees on HSE issues
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and make recommendations for corrective actions
- Investigate incidents to determine the root cause and recommend preventive measures
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders
- Participate in opportunities, improvements and projects driven by VISY strategic initiatives

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Recognised Certificate, Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is desirable
- Solid prior experience in a compliance role within the manufacturing/industrial environment and detailed knowledge of HSE management systems
- Strong ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders from all levels
