**About the Role**

The Graduate Conservator, Paintings role operates within Grimwade Conservation Services. The position is designed to provide the opportunity for skills development and career advancement for a recent conservation graduate who wishes to specialise in the treatment of paintings.

The Graduate Conservator, Paintings will participate in and observe a range of conservation work designed to extend their conservation skills and experience, and independently carry out a range of general lab activities to support the team in the delivery of the work plan.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Complete basic or process conservation treatments and project work under supervision from the project lead
- Observe and participate in treatment decision-making
- Support team members in the delivery of complex treatments and projects
- Observe and contribute to client liaison and quotation for conservation treatments

**Who We Are Looking For**

You will be a recent graduate of a conservation degree (up to 5 years) with a high level of demonstrated aptitude for painting conservation. You have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and work co-operatively and effectively in a team environment.

You will also have:

- Excellent attention to detail in the delivery of meticulous and repetitive tasks
- Ability to complete a conservation research project within the designated timeframe
- Demonstrably good vision, especially in relation to fine detail and colour vision and a high level of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
