About This Opportunity
The primary purpose of the position is to provide project support to the UQ Rural Hub Project across the Southern Queensland footprint of the Regional Training Hub. The position will work closely with an internal Regional Training Hub team, including academic and administrative staff, and key external partners and stakeholders aiming to improve the retention of medical graduates in rural and regional areas.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide high level support to the Senior academic staff at the Regional Training Hub to advocate for and/or extend current Specialist Training Program (STP) posts in a number of specialties, including ongoing support of clinical supervisors and accrediting health services.- Undertake relevant project activities to assist in increasing awareness of career planning and mentorship programs from high school students, medical students and junior doctors, including performing audits of what currently exists, and working closely with academic staff to establish relevant services regarding recruitment, career planning and mentorship programs and liaise with key stakeholders as necessary during project start-up, planning, development and implementation phases, including the organisation and support for network meetings or associated project events at the local level- Provision of secretarial support to the local Regional Training Hub governance committees, including calling for membership, establishment of committees, meeting scheduling and minutes- Identifying education and training needs for junior doctors and medical students relevant to rural practice, ensuring promotion of UQRCS events, and development and delivery of additional local education and training events in collaboration with training organisations and key stakeholders

This is a part-time (60%), fixed-term position through to 31st December 2024
At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $93,254 - $101,680, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $109,107- $118,966 annually.
About You- A degree in a health-related discipline with at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training-
- Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills and presentation skills.- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while still meeting deadlines, maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both collaboratively with colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders, as well as work autonomously to complete tasks as required.- Proficiency in relevant technologies, including MS Office Suite, and the capacity to take up new technologies if required to meet the needs of the role (i.e., communication technologies)
Desirable- Experience in and a commitment to living and working in rural and/or regional Australia.- Knowledge of Tertiary Education sector business practices- Subject matter expertise in the area of medical careers would be advantageous.
