Talent International is searching for an experienced **Data Analyst** to join our client, a large government department in Brisbane CBD on a contract basis until June 2024.

**About the role**:
The role of Senior Data Analyst, working within the agile scrum team and liaising with the business and technical stakeholders, will be responsible for profiling source systems data, documenting what the data means, and how the data is used by the business in the context of the business processes and source systems. Knowledge gained from this data profiling will be leveraged within the team for data modelling, design, and data integration into the data warehouse.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform systems analysis, data analysis and data profiling activities to create detailed knowledge of source system, their data meaning, structures and lifecycles, and the implications for data vault and pipeline design to migrate source system data into the Data Vault.
- Support source to target mapping as part of the Data Vault design.
- Support the testing work stream with detailed test scenarios, test executions, reconciliations etc.
- Play an active role in the development of Business Information Models (conceptual models) and source system and target system data models (logical and physical data models).
- Lead and manage software requirements definition and decomposition of system requirements in the form of Epics, Features and User Stories to provide guidance to software developers.
- Lead and ensure requirements gathering, modelling and stakeholder management activities comply with approved standards, methods, tools and notation.
- Provide strategic and operational advice regarding program/project direction for analysis activities specifically related to software requirements, requirements elicitation, data modelling and use case development.
- Lead the development of business requirements (Epics, Features) and software requirements specifications (predominantly User Stories and other notations e.g. Entity Relationship Diagrams, Business Process Modelling Notation, Unified Modelling Language) for Information Management/ICT projects, ensuring traceability of requirements and dependency mapping throughout the program lifecycle.
- Provide a support and mentoring role for business analysts within the program/project(s) and the organization on the interaction between business process and technical software requirements
- Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, facilitates effective communications and fosters relationships across the program/projects
- Help create an innovative, creative and fun team culture, capable of developing advanced technologies.

- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering
- Agile BA certification (AgileBA, AAC)
- BA / requirement management certification (CBAP, CPRE, PBA)
- Agile and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification
