Our company is looking for a motivated and experienced full-time Corrosion Technician who will be responsible for cutting as well as shaping precious metal into attractive and beautiful jewellery. You are also responsible for repairing and modifying the pieces of jewellery as per the requirements of clients. You should have in-depth knowledge of various crafting hands as well as machine-operated tools.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Designing and fabricating jewellery pieces such as rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings
- Repairing damaged jewellery by replacing broken parts, using hand tools and machines
- Examining and appraising gemstones and precious metals to determine value
- Carefully securing precious stones in retaining prongs and ridges, followed by meticulous smoothing, polishing techniques and thorough inspection of final settings
- Consulting with customers to determine their needs and preferences when designing custom jewellery pieces
- Engraving or embossing personalized messages, designs or monograms on pieces
- Using a variety of specialized tools such as jeweller’s torches, lathes, and lasers to shape metal and set stones
- Ordering supplies and materials necessary for the creation and repair of jewellery
- Completing articles to perfection using files, emery paper, and buffing machines for a flawless finish
- Creatively restyling old jewellery to breathe new life into timeless pieces
- Assessing the final ornament such as whether it is polished and cleaned well before delivery
- Packing the ornament in a professional and trained manner
- Ensuring that all pieces are safely stored and displayed to prevent damage and theft
- Maintaining detailed records of custom orders, repairs, and appraisals

**Qualifications and Experience**

A Certificate III or Certificate IV with 2 years of relevant full-time experience, or 3 years full-time relevant experience in lieu of Qualifications.

**Skills and Personal Attributes**
- Proven experience as a Jeweller, with a strong portfolio showcasing your craftsmanship
- Proficiency in traditional jewellery making techniques and tools
- Knowledge of different types of metals, gemstones, and materials used in jewellery production
- Amazing understanding of the purity of the metals
- Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
- Ability to interpret design sketches and customer preferences accurately
- Phenomenal artistic ability
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to use modern techniques to repair jewellery
- Excellent ability to work individually as well as in a team as and when required
- Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- An honest and thoughtful individual
- A strong work ethic

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
