**About the role**

The Security Technologies Team is accountable for 24/7 operations of Network Security and System Security technologies within Coles. This includes maintenance, policy enforcement, project implementation extending through Coles internal enterprise to cloud architecture.

**What you’ll be doing**

As the Senior Security Engineer your primary focus will be, but not limited to, the management and support **across Secure Web Gateway (SaSE), NextGen Firewall (NGFW), Remote Access & Edge Protection technologies.** You’ll have to manage various network security projects and operational activities within a large operational setting.

You’ll also:

- Be proficient in troubleshooting and attaining rapid recovery leading to root cause of complex enterprise incidents, aided using data mining or network analysis tools such as **Splunk and Wireshark.**:

- Manage patching, upgrade, performance monitoring, and tuning of security platforms.
- Have solid working knowledge on Firewalls, Network Access Control and Endpoint Protection/Endpoint Detection & Response.****:

- Operational oversight on change management, patch management and support documentation quality control.
- Perform network-centric security risk assessments for IT activities and projects.
- Have a solid appreciation of how various security technologies knit together to provide a resilient layered enterprise defence.

**About you & your skills**:
You have an innate ability to problem solve, strive for change, and bring vast security experience on delivering large-scaled projects and solving high-pressure enterprise-grade technical issues.

Within your past experiences you will have developed your ability to communicate complex issues to internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner and offer ongoing strategic advice to improve security and productivity.
- Minimum 5 years experience in delivering large enterprise security solutions.
- Commercial hands-on experience in Secure Web Gateway SASE (Cloud/On-prem Proxy), NextGen Firewall (NGFW), Remote Access (SSL & IPsec VPN) & Edge Protection (ADC/WAF, CDN, Bot Protection).
- Need to have Experience with using automation during deployment and management, this may include Bash, Python, Ansible, Azure Devops, Terraform, REST APIs.
- Cloud infrastructure experience, ideally in Azure but would consider GCP as well.
- DevOps or DevSecOps, Infrastructure-as-code CI/CD and API Security experience
- Proficient in one or more of the following technologies/practices: cryptography, PKI and CA’s, deep packet inspection, OSI 7-layer networking model.
- Solid understanding in network security frameworks (SANS, NIST, ASD, Mitre ATT&CK, OWASP), principles, disciplines, and infrastructure.
- A solid understanding of general switching fundamentals (trunking, link aggregation etc) and a working knowledge of routing principals particularly BGP.
