The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is the voice of general practitioners (GPs) in our growing cities and throughout rural and remote Australia. For more than 60 years, we’ve supported the backbone of Australia’s health system by setting the standards for education and practice and advocating for better health and wellbeing for all Australians.
We foster the future of general practice through our profession-led, community-based training model for the Australian General Practice Training Program and other training pathways. We train GPs to deliver quality, whole-person care to patients across Australia, support their ongoing professional development and provide a point of connection for GPs serving communities in every corner of the country.
**About you**
As our
**_State Manager - NSW & ACT_**, you’ll take a leading role in managing a high performing team and accessing other key internal resources, promoting collegiality and pride in the profession.
To thrive in this role, you’ll have:
- a tertiary qualifications in health, business, public policy, or related discipline.
- knowledge of the Australian health system and experience with policy analysis and advocacy.
- experience in building networks to develop and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships with key industry, government, non-government, and internal stakeholders.
- excellent communication skills to influence and negotiate beneficial outcomes.
- demonstrated ability to operate in a role that requires both proactive planning, along with reactive high-pressure work
- strong business management experience with a track record of improving member value and engagement.
**About the opportunity**
Reporting to the
**_Head of Member Experience,_** you’ll drive outcomes, advocating for solutions to issues and identifying opportunities that will add value to RACGP members.
In addition, you’ll:
- play a critical role in strategically representing our NSW & ACT members. You will be required to be at the forefront of issues, inquiries, and consultations which may impact our members and the general practice profession in the region.
- build and maintain effective and constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
- work in conjunction with the Faculty Chair, Council and Committees and the Policy & Advocacy department to lead the planning, development, and delivery of a targeted advocacy strategy, reflecting the RACGP’s key priorities at a state/ territory level.
- influence and drive outcomes and raising awareness of the GP profession, including delivering activities that promote RACGP members, their communities and the profession and ensuring these activities are aligned with the RACGP’s position and strategic objectives.
- provide timely and accurate informed advice and support to members in the region and their communities.
