Our mission is to help financial intermediaries & investors leverage our knowledge & expertise, and to equip them with the tools & insights they need to deliver high quality investment solutions.We are recruiting a **Commercial Analyst **to join our **Sydney **team on a 3 month fixed-term contract.
The Commercial Analyst provides insightful analysis to maximise business profitability, forecast budget requirements for the short, medium and long term. The Commercial Analyst reports directly to the Finance Manager and will work closely with the business to drive efficiencies, prepare models to assess future profitability of identified opportunities and taking a lead in solving commercial issues that may arise. The Commercial Analyst will work closely with the Finance Team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Finance Manager and wider finance team with the preparation of financial plans including budgeting and forecasting for the short and long term
- Analysing the business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing and cost of goods sold
- Analysing and reporting on projects in progress and following completion.
- Completing monthly KPI dashboards and other management reporting tasks.
- Supporting business with pricing for commercial contracts
- Supporting the Executive Team by conducting analysis of commercial opportunities
- Preparing models to assess future profitability of identified opportunities
- Assisting with the drafting of board reports/papers and other relevant committee papers including reviewing papers for financial accuracy as required.
- Maintaining monthly reporting metrics and insights Other ad hoc requests from the CFO or Finance Manager.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience, hands on analytics experience
- Strong in excel with an aptitude to learn new systems
- Confident & effective business partnering skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management skills with the ability to achieve competing deadlines
- A “can do” attitude, self-motivation and an enquiring commercial mind
- The ability to grasp new concepts and ideas associated with new products and on-going change in the business and reporting environment
- A high level of attention to detail with the capacity to appreciate the "big picture"
- The ability to think logically, consider consequences of and act proactively to manage the consequences
- A proven track record of working with and influencing senior and executive leaders and implementing process improvements Strong analytical and interpretation skills
Essential qualifications:
- Business or Commerce Degree qualified CPA or CA qualified
Highly regarded:
- Experience working in the Financial services industry MYOB and / or Salesforce CRM Platform experience
