An opportunity exists for a full-time ongoing Electorate Officer A position in the office of the Member for Hasluck, Tania Lawrence MP.

The role is currently based in the Hasluck Electorate Office in Ellenbrook, WA and may relocate to Midland, WA within the term.

**Job description**:
The Electorate Officer (EOA) position has responsibility for the management of office administration, diary and travel bookings, constituent enquiries and correspondence. An understanding of the role of local, state, and federal governments, as well as a general knowledge of the Hasluck electorate is desirable.

The role will require you to be highly motivated, be able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team who are driven by their values to support and implement the mandate of the Federal Government.

This position would suit a highly motivated person with office and administration experience and strong organisational skills who thrives in fast-paced but rewarding environments.

**The key duties of the position are, but are not limited to**:

- Office administration
- First point of contact for constituents
- Diary management and travel bookings
- Triaging correspondence
- Supporting constituents with requests for information and assistance
- Data entry and database management
- Other electoral and office duties as directed.

**The ideal applicant should possess the following skills and experience**:

- Strong administrative and interpersonal engagement skills with meticulous attention to detail
- High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
- A familiarity with the functions of different government departments and services at both a state and federal level
- Well-developed office and IT competency particularly with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Calendar and Teams.
- Excellent organisational ability and time management skills
- A history of successfully managing competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good teamwork in a small team setting

**Additionally, applicants with the following skills and experience would be highly desirable**:

- Experience working in an office environment such as a political office, government department or within a service provider.
- Strong local knowledge of the Hasluck electorate

**Employment conditions**:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-23which include:

- A commencing salary between **$67,035 and $70,969 **will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills
- An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
