***Please note this role is for immediate start until Feb 2026. You must be minimum PGY 4 to be eligible for this role.**

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. It provides acute, sub-acute, primary, and community‐based health services, to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding regions. More information can be found on the CHS website.- Along with the clinical duties, there are regular educational events and clinical meetings in which the registrar will be expected to participate.. The registrar will be encouraged to undertake research with a view to presenting the work at relevant scientific meeting(s).- On-Call: Participate in after-hours neurology/ stroke on-call roster**DUTIES**:

- Under limited direction of the Clinical Director, and under supervision of the neurology consultants, you will:
- 1. Participate in outpatient clinics under the supervision of consultant neurologists to provide a referral service for GPs and other medical practitioners and provide appropriate continuity of care for discharged patients.- 2. Participate in after-hours neurology/ stroke on-call roster under consultant supervision.- 3. Liaise with all members of the clinical team to maximise patient care and outcome. Promote high quality, customer service principles, practices and attributes.- 4. Contribute to the education and training of all members of the clinical team. Regularly attend relevant departmental and interdepartmental meetings. Contribute to the clinical governance of the Unit by undertaking clinical audit, morbidity and mortality review and practising evidence-based medicine.- 5. Actively participate in the training of both junior medical staff and medical students. Contribute to the teaching program of the ANU Medical School under the broad direction of the Head of Department in association with the Dean or delegate.- 6. Undertake research in areas of medical interest related to the clinical practice or science of neurology.- 7. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.**ABOUT YOU**:

- Strong clinical track record with an interest in neurology and a strong commitment to learning.- Strong personal commitment to patient care in all aspects and willingness to participate in out-of-hours on-call roster.- Ability to function well as part of a team.- Enthusiasm for, and willingness to be involved in, research and teaching.**Position Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Full Registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA.
- Postgraduate year four, or above, and previous experience or training in a hospital-based internal medicine training program and/or neurology training program.
- Demonstrate commitment to training and continuing professional development including participation in relevant teaching programs, activities, and feedback opportunities, involvement in research, and teaching of junior medical staff and/or medical students.
- Ideally, successful completion of the FRACP part 1 and part 2 examinations (or equivalent) and in the final years of advanced training for the fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) with the intention to obtain sub-speciality training/qualifications in neurology and/or stroke.
- The successful applicant will need to be available for occasional weekend and after-hours work.
- Proficient computer literacy skills, as you will be responsible for completing clinical documentation in the DHR and using other CHS IT systems.
