- Family with B2, G5 & G8 looking for an amazing au pair or live-in nanny. This family have a full-time position available in Canberra from January 2024, for at least 12 months, extending into the longer term if desired. Their beautiful Nanny is moving on to new adventures after 2 years of wonderful memories.
- About the family:
- They are a fun-loving family of 4 consisting of Mum (single, full-time medical mum who doesn’t get enough sleep); a thoughtful 8-year-old girl who’s full of brilliant happy energy; a kind and inquisitive 6-year-old boy who creates the most fabulous imaginative play; and a 2 year old toddler who’s an exuberant bundle of cheeky energy. They also have a sweet little cat, who loves cuddles and will always ask for seconds at dinner
- The two older children attend school Monday through Friday, and the 2 year-old will be enrolled in day care two days per week. Mum generally works Monday through Friday with weekends off, although do the occasional night/weekend day on call.
- When family aren’t at work or school, they love playing games, doing craft, going to playgrounds, or bunking down and watching a movie together. They a busy family, with lots of extracurriculars such as: swimming, ballet, jazz dance, cooking, chess, choir, karate, and violin.
- What they need:
- A kind, patient, and fun-loving person who understands children and enjoys spending time and playing games with them. The ability to gently enforce boundaries and take the children out for adventures. A love of cheeky toddlers and feeling comfortable looking after them. Being able to cook and drive is a must, as well as share in the organisation and running of a busy household. Flexibility is also required, as Mums work can be unpredictable at times.
- The position includes- Your own wing of the house, including bedroom and private en suite. There is a double bed, built in wardrobe, and shelves. All linen provided. The room also exits out onto the outside path with direct access to the side gate, so you can come and go at your leisure when not working if you wish.

- The opportunity to explore Australia’s Bush Capital, full of beautiful gardens and mountains to climb. There are also lots of restaurant, bars, and cafes to explore for those who are foodies An easy drive to Sydney for weekends away, as well as the coast, where all the beaches are on offer.
Duties include- ~30 hours/week
- Caring for a 2-year-old while Mum at work (shared over the week with grandparents)
- Running the older kids to-and-from school (also shared between grandparents and another part-time nanny)
- Light household duties such as tidying, organising, and keeping the kitchen clean (no regular cleaning or laundry duties required, as we have a housekeeper)
- Being able to independently manage dinner, bath, and bedtime on the days when I’m working late
- Getting the older children ready for school
- Being available on the nights I’m on call for work
- Preparing/organising most dinners
- General assistance with the children and around the house when Mums home
- Odd-jobs and running errands
