Transport Analysis Unit provides transport intelligence, data insight and assurance services including modelling, data collection, preparation and analysis, statistical consultancy and survey design.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Oversee and direct the maintenance and development of demographic and land use data, analysis and modelling tools. Scope out and provide recommendations to the Manager on the future work program for the Land Use and Transport Systems team.
- Lead & coordinate demographic and land use data development, analysis and modelling activities to support Policy, Planning and Investment Division and other divisions' business processes, planning and business case development.
- Coordinate demographic and land use data development, analysis and advice on major strategic projects on behalf of Policy, Planning and Investment Division.
- Work collaboratively with areas of TMR to promote departmental goals and achieve outcomes for stakeholders.
- Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders. Translate their needs into measurable outputs and provide technical advice and best practice process to achieve stakeholder outcomes.
- Coordinate reports, correspondence and briefings on demographic and land use issues, trends and opportunities to support transport planning activities.
- Communicate complex information including the value, sensitivities, and limitations of data, analyses, and models to non-technical people both orally and in writing, including the preparation and presentation of information to large and small groups.
- Initiate performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.
- Lead and mentor a team of demographic and land use modellers.
- Participate in business planning and governance activities for the Transport Analysis Unit.

This position reports to the Manager (Data and Integration) and will, from time to time, have direct reports in the form of one to two internal technical staff and a number of contractors as required.
