THE ROLE

To support flexibility in the workplace, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a 3 days a week role (ideally Wednesdays to Fridays) until mid 2025.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic School Operations Manager to manage, plan and deliver operational and administrative services within the Macquarie School of Education, as part of the broader operational services delivery model of the Faculty of Arts.

Reporting to the Head of Faculty Operations, the School Operations Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership and managing the delivery and implementation of programs and services for the School of Education and across the Faculty.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven, dynamic and agile Operations Manager to further their career within a collaborative, diverse and rewarding work environment.

Key Accountabilities- Build and/or contribute to the development of the annual School budget at the direction of the Head of Operations and in consultation with Dean and Faculty Finance Business Partners;- Lead the development, drafting and implementation of operational and resourcing plans for the School;- In consultation with the Dean, Head of Faculty Operations and Finance Business Partner, oversee the day-to-day School financial operations and budget management;- Contribute to the development of the strategy of the School in partnership with the Dean of School as required;- In coordination with Faculty Education, Research, Technical and Shared Services, manage the organisation and operational support for staff and student and HDR lifecycle administration within the School;- Provide high-quality advice to the Dean, including participation in key committees and development of recommendations for consideration by Faculty Committee;-
- Oversee the onboarding of new staff, HDR, honorary appointees, visitors and volunteers to the department in accordance with WHS and other University requirements;- Build and maintain productive collaborative relationships with key stakeholders internally across the Faculty and the University and externally;- Lead, coach and develop professional staff within the School to build a service-focused high-performance culture;- Comply with relevant professional standards and codes of ethics and EEO and WHS regulations;- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.

Experience and knowledge of the Education sector (preferably Higher Education) would be a distinct advantage.
