About the role
Calvary have a rewarding opportunity for an experienced HIM/Clinical Coder to join the Revenue Team as a National Clinical Coder to provide coding and casemix support to our hospitals located nationally (NSW, ACT, SA, TAS & VIC).
Based in Melbourne with the ability for hybrid work, you will be responsible for remote coding of episodes from across the Calvary network (both public and private hospitals), coding auditing, clinical documentation improvement, and coder education. This role is supported by the National Health Information Manager, National Senior Clinical Coder, National Coder and a team of remote coders.
This role will also involve travel to hospitals as required.
**Your main duties will include**:
Clinical Coding and Auditing
Coding Education
Casemix / Data reporting and analysis
About you
Recognised Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent or HIMAA recognised Clinical Coding qualification
Experience and demonstrated competency in clinical coding across a broad casemix for a period of at least 5 years
Knowledge of AR-DRGs and Casemix funding and experience coding with 3M Codefinder software
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with relevant knowledge of medical terminology providing high level guidance
Understanding of both public and private sector health funding models
