**About the Role**
This opportunity at Austal requires the expertise of an experienced Sustainment Operations Manager to join their shipyard in Cairns. You will be the main client interface and be accountable for delivery in accordance with the requirements of the contract. You will be a strong leader with the ability to influence, mentor and guide a multi-discipline team. As well as being responsible for the delivery of all support services, operational support and engineering support while meeting all Health Safety, Environment, and Quality requirements.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure that the capabilities and services delivered meet or exceed the client’s expectations, are delivered on time and cost effectively;
- Develop and foster strong partnerships with suppliers, customers and key stakeholders;
- Ensure effective risk management and governance are adhered to;
- Deliver financial performance targets in line with budgets;
- Coach, mentor and guide other staff.

**Skills and Experience required**
- Due to the nature of the role, you must be an Australian Citizen to obtain an Australian Government security clearance;
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Project Management or relevant area;
- Extensive experience in a field relevant to the sustainment of Naval Assets;
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to work within a matrix and collaborative organisation.
