**Primary purpose of the role**:
The Executive Officer provides a range of high-level executive, secretariat, human resources, administrative and government support services to the Premier’s Office including managing human resources, managing office activities, managing the governance, and reporting requirements and implementing strategies to support the work of the Premier’s Office in achieving their strategic and operational objectives.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Develop and oversee the implementation and evaluation of office and administrative practices, systems and procedures to optimise efficiency and support the achievement of quality outcomes.
- Oversee all HR matters, recruitment, finance, travel and governance requirements for all staff.
- Act as the Executive point of contact for all staff, and action administrative requests as well as ensure all staff comply with their reporting requirements.
- Manage the Office budget and provide regular reports to the Chief of Staff.
- Provide issues management and support, responding to emerging issues to ensure effective resolution with mínimal risk within the office.
- Prepare, manage and review the provision of high-level internal communications and correspondence including briefings, reports, submissions and notes to ensure the comprehensiveness, accuracy, and timeliness of written information particularly for the Chief of Staff and Director of Policy. Ensure there is an efficient flow of correspondence and briefings.

**Key challenges**:

- Anticipating and addressing contentious issues and providing accurate advice on complex issues, often within tight timeframes, given the need to collect and assimilate information from a variety of different sources whilst maintaining confidentiality and exercising diplomacy.
- Managing human resources in a high-pressure environment as well as meeting the highest standards of governance.

**Key Attributes**:

- Experience, and a passion for working in the human resources area.
- Preference for applicants with para-legal experience or qualifications.
- Preference for applicants with experience in managing governance systems.

**Remuneration**:

- Full time position. $190,000 per annum plus super and leave loading

**Reporting**:

- Report directly to the Premier’s Chief of Staff
