**Internal Auditor - Medical Industry**

A well-respected Redbank based medical practice, with increasing patient, medical practitioner and clinic sites, is moving to the next level of its development cycle and wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Internal Auditor whose primary role will be providing independent insight into the effectiveness of the company's risk management, integrity of management reporting and effective governance process. The role is full time and ongoing.

This very interesting and rewarding role will operate across the full spectrum of modern compliant medical practice activities, covering areas such as
- Quality assurance (Patient data security, quality of care audits),
- Compliance and risk management,
- Operational Audits (internal controls, program compliance, staff training) and
- Financial Audits.

**Responsibilities of the role will include**:

- Evaluating the cost effectiveness and risks of operational processes, activities, policies, and systems.
- Reporting to management and director on the existence and effectiveness of the system of internal controls.
- Analyzing, evaluating, developing, and implementing new control systems that optimize operations or utilize new technologies.
- Check and verify financial statements and reports for management, shareholders, and statutory bodies.
- Establish and develop audit objectives, designs, and implements audit methodologies, processes, and audit report criteria.
- Auditing internal books of account at a regular intervals.
- Analyzing the risk in system operating procedures and policies.
- Liaising with other audit resources and stakeholder and reports recommending performance or control improvements to practice management.
- Identify and manage potential risks by analyzing the data and detecting patterns around potential safety issues, such as medication errors, patient falls, or healthcare-acquired conditions, and provide recommendations for improvement in risk management in medical Center.
- Evaluate effective ways for operational efficiency to reduce the cost structure of an organization to optimize operations and identify areas where resources can be allocated more effectively for cost reduction.
- Data analysis and identification of areas and systems that require improvement to enhance operations leading to improved outcomes for patients with greater transparency, increasing trust among stakeholders by identifying patterns of suspicious activity, such as billing irregularities or improper prescribing practices, pinpoint problematic areas in all sectors of the center.
- Identify and address issues more efficiently, leading to ongoing improvements and the provision of the highest quality care for the patients.
- Checking internal controls are aligned with the policies and procedures that are designed to prevent or detect errors, fraud, or other irregularities in the medical center such as patient safety, data privacy and regulatory compliance.
- Provide assurance by assessing and reporting on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes designed to help the organization achieve strategic, operational, financial, and compliance objectives.
- Handling the entire audits of medical center business and guiding accounts department of audit practices to maintain financial statements are free from any material misstatement caused by errors or fraud.
- Bringing attention to company strengths and weaknesses of management and providing advice as they develop responses and fix these issues.
- Highlight collaboration with compliance officers to address both financial and healthcare compliance issues, ensuring a complete approach to risk management.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Degree) of a high standard along with two to three, but preferably more, years of professional experience in the medical or allied sectors
- Demonstrated experience working with medical practice management and shareholders
- Superior communication and reporting skills along with demonstrated ability to build networks, and the ability to clearly articulate business risks and controls.
- Laser focus on quality and exacting reporting standards
- Strong personal integrity, determination and resilience.
- Articulate, confident, calm under pressure with good influencing and change management skills.
- Progress towards, or possession of appropriate professional licenses and memberships
- Unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia
