**Key Performance Indices**
- Environment, Health and Safety compliance for all engineering and project activities at site.
- Site Capital Plan development and execution.

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Environment, Health & Safety_
- Active participation in EHS leadership Team for Clayton site.
- Lead and drive accountability for assigned elements of the EHS management system for the Clayton site.
- Proactively review manufacturing processes and equipment for safety improvements at site and subsequently include in site capital plans if investments are required and ensure required engineering controls are in place.
- Ensure risk assessment and MOC processes are actively followed for all existing and new engineering solutions in coordination with EHS department.
- Ensure the Induction processes are followed with engineering contractors on site and ensure engineering contractors comply with site-based procedures, regulatory and PPG requirements.
- Ensure PPG employees under the control of this position are inducted and trained.
- Participate in RCA for product quality defects and incident investigations.
- Actively work with Environment, Waste Reduction and Sustainability leaders at site to identify engineering solutions for improvement of PPG Clayton site score on carbon footprint and waste reduction and energy consumption.
- Work with EH&S to manage the relationship with GRC (PPG global insurer) and compliance requirements.
- Engineering_
- Ensure robust engineering processes are followed in Engineering department and each project goes through the Conceptual, Front End and Detailed Engineering steps as specified by PPG Global Engineering Teams and PPG PPR processes.
- Ensure process of Investigating opportunities on safety and productivity improvements on site is followed in Engineering department with the outcome of fit for purpose engineering solutions.
- Develop expertise and thorough knowledge and understanding in Engineering Team on Engineering regulations, PPG Technical requirements, and industry best practices.
- Develop capability in Engineering Team to do as well as review and approve required electrical, mechanical, process and structural engineering calculations as required for the engineering designs.
- Sign off engineering designs and drawings as a final engineering authority.
- Build relationship and work collaboratively with key equipment suppliers and vendors to identify suitable engineering solutions for plant current and future requirements and upgrades.
- Innovation_
- Work closely with Suppliers, R&D and PPG Global stakeholders to investigate new technologies suitable for site and manufacturing processes.
- Develop network with local technical universities and industry bodies to identify new technologies, equipment, manufacturing processes that can deliver commercial benefits to PPG Clayton business.
- Capital Management_
- Overall responsible for PPG site Capital portfolio including development of Site Capital plan, coordination with regional and global capital and engineering teams for Clayton site capital plan approvals.
- Responsible for timely ACT submissions and approvals for all approved capital projects in capital plan.
- Ensure robust capital project management processes are followed in Engineering Team with excellence in project cost management, schedule management and scope development and control.
- Develop expertise in Engineering Team for close coordination and clear communication with all stake holders at site during project execution.
- People Management _
- Performance management undertaken and reviews conducted for all direct reports in Engineering.
- Develop performance, teamwork, and self-governance culture in Engineering Team which all team members are motivated to deliver best results for the PPG business.
- Clear objectives and KPI’s for the team with planned regular review to monitor the performance.
- Provide coaching for performance improvement.
- Ensure all engineering staff is adequately trained for the job. Organize trainings as required for the Engineering department.
- Seek internal stakeholder feedback on a regular basis on team performance and use this to provide guidance to engineering team for performance improvement.
- Establish forums for regular reviews with FLMs to keep track of engineering activities and projects in their areas of responsibility.
- Mentor Engineering team members and develop a succession plan in accordance with annual talent reviews.
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Minimum of 10+ yrs. of manufacturing related Engineering and Capital Planning and execution experience
- Extensive working experience in chemical industry and have managed engineering activities and delivered capital project portfolios.
- Experience in large scale industrial procurement process with with international key equipment manufacturers and EPC contracts.
