**Departmental Officer (Several Positions)**:
Brisbane QLD
- As an APS 5 Officer in Aged Care Qld this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that enables the delivery of system stewardship to deliver the Australian Government’s objectives of better health and wellbeing for senior Australians. You will be part of a team that works collaboratively with a range of stakeholders in the health system including external providers, communities and staff in policy, program, regulatory and corporate areas of the Department to achieve the Government’s aged care and health priorities.- The Department of Health and Aged Care is committed to workplace diversity and aims to create an environment that values and utilises the contribution of its people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. - Ability to identify problems or issues and resolve or establish treatments to mitigate.
- Sound written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to audiences with a range of backgrounds and cultures.
- Maintain a well-developed understanding of relevant aged care legislation and policy frameworks.
- High level analytical skills to accurately identify risk using appropriate decision tools for reporting/managing risks
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or under limited guidance in relation to directed responsibilities with the understanding that complex or difficult issues are discussed with team leaders or experts.
- Ability to work in a changing environment and demonstrated skills in prioritisation, time management and the ability to take on a changing workplan as discussed with team leaders.

- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made.
- An applicant’s suitability for employment with Health and Aged Care will also be assessed through a variety of pre-employment check processes, such as:

- Satisfactory completion of a criminal history check, and where relevant a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check.
- Completion of a medical declaration and pre-employment medical (where required).
- Providing evidence of qualifications (where required); and
- Obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the required level.

- Employees perform their duties at one of the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) offices, in the locations specified in this advertisement. Remote working is possible and is negotiated with your manager on commencement. While most of our employees work 2-3 days in the office, our policy requires a minimum of one day a week in the office. The negotiation with a manager seeks to balance your personal and professional needs with the needs of your role and business area.
